Lincoln

I don't even know where to start to talk about this little man!

He is sweet. He is handsome. He is sweet and handsome. and Handsomely sweet! Sweetly handsome. and little....

His 2 year stats:
Weight: 22.3 lbs (5.6%tile)
Length: 33 in (9.5%tile)
Head circumference:  18 in (3%tile)

One thing I absolutely adore is how he pretend plays, with Scarlett. Specifically he enjoys pretending to be a puppy. He has done this for month, crawling around making puppy sounds, panting, with his tongue out. Following Scarlett wherever she goes.

His vocabulary is growing. Not exploding - yet, but growing. I love when he says "no noo" (I don't know) and "ee ease" (more please). He calls his drink "co co", credit goes to his sister who is obsessed with "hot cocoa"still, which is just warm milk.

He always blows kisses when I say "I love you", if we are parting ways.

He really doesn't like it when I do his hair, it's constant "ow oowwww ow ow ow's" When I am gelling it up. He much rather just have at the gel by himself.

He still takes two naps for me sometimes, when we are home all day. He sleeps with his teddy and I usually snuggle him with teddy before laying him in his crib. Then he'll say "mooommy?" and point to the ceiling "bessh, bessh" ...ooookay lincoln, Good night.... "Mommy?! Beessh, beesh." I just recently found out I think he is saying "bees" He always points out the bees in books. For whatever reason there always seems to be one!

Raja loves to sleep with him in his crib, and he lets her. He likes to pet her nicely and steal kisses from her.

Lincoln loves trucks!!! He points them out a lot, while we are driving, going through parking lots, in books, and on his clothes or anywhere he sees them. "uuck" or "cuccck". All cars are "uuucks" too, of course.

He loves his sister. When we go to Scarlett's dance class, we have opportunities to go into the studio to watch her dance. And as soon as the door opens to go in, Lincoln runs straight to Scarlett to give her a big hug. Every time.
It doesn't matter if she makes him be her puppy, husband, neighbor, teacher, friend, or dad - as long as she is letting him pretend play - he will play the part! He always wants to be doing what she is doing (and she knows it! Which is trouble. she's a great teacher of doing bad things too often)

Things I love -

- He will hunt me down so I can kiss his owie all better, even if I'm on the otherside of the house.
- Bubbles make him so happy.
-He loves to be tickled, and to jump.
- He tucks both arms up and waves them hard when he's running around.
- When he says "yeah" all the time, to everything and anything.
- I absolutely love kissing his cheeks and forehead, over and over and over.

I love his mild temperament, happy-go-lucky personality. People say "just wait until he's 2." "Just wait... until he gets bigger"

But really, this boy has stolen my heart and I don't plan on getting it back for a long time.

Lincoln's Birthday "party"

Happy Birthday to this sweet boy!

Lincoln turned two on Sunday. It is fun that his birthday was on Father's Day this year. I figured I could be cliche and get Seth a tie for Father's Day - but it made it totally worth it and much better to give Lincoln a matching one for his birthday. These two guys got to share their special day together.

Since church is our later in the afternoon, Linc always gets a later nap. But we celebrated with some presents and cake before bed.

A new truck, power tool, and a T-ball set - what more could a little boy wish for!?!

Okay, okay, a new water/sand table from Grandma and Grandpa Burke sure topped off the birthday! Scarlett and Lincoln have spent time with it each day since, I'm excited it will provide endless hours of entertainment as summer continues on.

I was lazy again, and didn't make a birthday cake. He enjoyed blowing out the candle, again and again and again. The tres leches cake was yummy too!

Doesn't this last photo just say everything about how good the cake was!?

Happy Birthday Sweet boy. We Love You!!

Seth turns 30!

Happy Birthday Seth!!! We wanted to make this birthday a special one since it's a new decade and he just graduated from Grad school.

I had been wanting to get Seth something extra special for this birthday's present, and a graduation present. Back in February I had started brainstorming what we could do, to make it a memorable one.

Originally I wanted to rent an exotic car for him to go driving in, and have a fun day out. But I quickily found out that was impossible to do, the closest thing to that would be going to Vegas. Where he could drive an exotic car around a track twice, get a T-shirt, photo for $400. Maybe another time.

After more research, I decided on surprising him with a day of off-roading in Moab!

On Seth's birthday, the kids and I visited him at work in the morning with donuts and a few of his favorite snacks.

I switched him cars, and while Scarlett went to a birthday party, Lincoln and I went out and got his car detailed inside-out! It was so gross from our 1,400 mile road trip from the week before. (plus Lincoln threw up a few times in it) This was a nice surprise for him when he got home from work.

Lincoln got quite bored during the process, it was way past his naptime! The cars could only entertain him for so long

Seth's parents mega surprised him and came back into town!! They could not have timed it more perfectly. When he got home from work at 4pm, they literally pulled in the drive way right behind him! He was so confused! We were already so lucky to see them when the flew out for his graduation ceremony, and then when we went to Illinois/Iowa for Seth's cousin's wedding. So this was a fun surprise!

We went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse, and Seth rode the saddle and they sang to him.:) What a stud.

Saturday afternoon we had a BBQ and friends came to help us celebrate. It was a birthday/congrats bash, so glad we were able to do that! It was really nice having his parents here for that party too, they were a great help in the preparations.

We ate good food. The kids bounced in the bounce house. He blew out candles. It was a success!!

Happy Birthday Seth!
